Jake Hewlett is a rising star in the racing world, having made an indelible mark by clinching the Type R Trophy championship in his debut year with natural talent, which set him apart from his peers.
Beyond his racing achievements, Jake is committed to fostering the next generation of drivers. He dedicates his time to coaching aspiring racers, helping them hone their skills and achieve their full potential. This passion for mentorship extends to his role as a professional sim driver for Team Coanda Esports.
From 2016 to 2018 in iRacing, Jake won the Production Car Challenge, Grand Touring Cup, Bathurst 1000 V8 Supercar, NEO GTE Endurance Series, McLaren WFGS 24hr of Le Mans, and Tegiwa BMW M8 Championship. He secured second place in the Mazda MRT24 Championship and Simply Race 24hrs of Suzuka. Additionally, he qualified for the World GT Pro Series, World Rallycross Championship, Porsche Cup, and VRS GT World Championship, amassing over 289 race wins during this period.
Jake's journey in real racing began with a victory during a round of Time Attack at Brands Hatch 2021. Following this, he built his first race car for the Type R Trophy Championship 2022, marking the debut of his racing career. In his first race at Croft, Jake secured a third-place finish. From there, he quickly made a name for himself, achieving multiple wins and working tirelessly to win the Type R Trophy Championship in his first year. Along the way, he broke multiple lap records, achieved most race wins, defying expectations for a rookie.
In 2023, Jake participated in three rounds of the Britcar Trophy, securing victories at Silverstone and a second-place finish at Brands Hatch. He then transitioned to driver coaching, which flourished and allowed him to maintain his passion for motorsports. In 2024, with the backing of Lewis and Ryan from Europa Crash Centre, Jake was given the chance to race in the Racing Hondas Round 10 Championship. He made the most of the opportunity, securing both a first-place and second-place finish. His success continued at Donington Park, where he dominated the field and claimed victories in both Rounds 11 and 12, finishing with an impressive 3 wins from the last 4 races. Jake then sealed the year with a victory at Brands Hatch, adding yet another triumph to his growing list of achievements.
As 2025 approached, Jake shifted focus to the 750 Motorclub Sim Series, where his winning streak continued, taking the top spot in the first four rounds. Heading into the new year, Jake has just clinched the ST150 Cup Sim Championship title, having won every round so far.
